I am in hospital. Again I might add. Last time was in 2004, Kuala Lumpur in Malaysia, but it doesn't seem like that long ago...
Last Friday I went to the doctor as I the left side of my face had been feeling numb for the last couple of days. I thought the numbness would go away eventually, but no such luck, it just kept spreading.
We were scheduled to go down to the Valais with a couple of clients on Saturday, so I thought before I have a stroke, trapped up on an obscure mountain, I should go get myself checked out.
My doctor referred me directly to the emergency department and after numerous tests they decided to keep me over night...
To treat the symptom I am on a three-day intensive cortisone treatment, which means that they hooked me up to a cortisone-IV every morning. Thankfully today was the last day. I hate those IV needles! I will have to take cortisone tablets for two weeks, to wean my kidneys off the extra cortisone... am not looking forward to blowing up like a whale, but then again, it is a small price to pay for my health!!!
