Played volleyball for the first time since my absence. thank goodness the other team was rubbish, otherwise I would never have lasted as long as I did :-).
received a frantic sms yesterday morning (day of the match) that we were not enough setters and if I were up to the challenge. of course I couldn't let them down and said I would give it a go. was surprised as to how well I managed to hold up, thought I would last a couple of minutes and then retire to the bench. but no, played a couple of sets. and yes, we won!
am hard lining some cheap magnesium as we speak...
had a check-up at the polyclinic yesterday, scheduled for 9.15 am. At 8:45h I got a call from the hospital, apparently my assigned doctor had to go to Berne because she needed a new pass and was unable to see me (???). Could I could come at 11am instead? Annoyed I agreed, and a tour of Manuel's office as well as a spontaneous visit to the hairdresser cheered me up.
Unfortunately this new found inner peace did not last long: once at the hospital it soon became clear that their organisation was more than shitty.
The attending doctor did not have the foggiest idea of what she was supposed to do with me! Why? my file was missing!
They told me some cock and bull story that the other Dr (who was now in Berne) had taken my file with her. Yeah sure. I always have a couple of customer files on me, ensuring noone else will be able to snag my client?!
It took another 30 minutes for this new Doc to call in all results / documents / etc. from the labs... & get this, just as we were about to start, some assistant popped in and cheerfully informed us that the file was not in fact in Berne (duh) but the secretary had forgotten to create / open a file!
(Yes, please tell the already furious patient that 1. they lied and 2. their admin is incompetent... makes me feel a whole lot better! ever heard the phrase: silence is golden?!)
What a day.
I was especially pissed because I was missing an important meeting. But who cares that other people have jobs as well? No one at this hospital.
Oh well, at least this new doctor seemed to know what she was talking about (like I can judge) and at the end of the month I go back for a follow-up MRI. Which was what the doctor at the ward told me in the first place.
All test results thankfully are and remain fine, so nothing new. Thank God.
