Friday morning saw me bright and early in front of THE store... ready to try on my dress again and ACCESSORIZE.
Hadn't seen it for weeks, let alone touched it. Must admit I felt slightly apprehensive. What if I did not like it anymore?
Darn saleswoman was late, plus she had forgotten my appointment. Her vacant eyes sprang into sharp focus with shock when she saw me. The poor woman had just come from the dentist and looked like a ginormous wasp had stung her cheek.
She rallied impressivly when she realised she could not slink off and nurse her tooth in some corner. Cannot fault her professionalism.
In between trying to force me into hideous granny-style underwear she told me the long and painful story of her dental appointment. In the end I jumped into one of her horrible corsets and faked enthusiasm just to be spared the details.
Needless to say, I did not buy their underwear. Rather overdid the faking enthusiasm bit. Had a hell of a job getting out of that!
I was lucky again: had the whole store to myself. Whenever we went there for my HTB (hustband to be)'s suit it was chockablock. The number of men buying horrible waistcoats is astonishing. Did not realise there were so many misguided designers, let alone BUYERS! nuff said.
Anyhow, I had a blast at that store.
Tried on veils, hats, shoes, gloves,... you name it, I tried it.
They gave me this fantastic Lady Diana style veil, so long you need a second room just to unfold it. Plus you'd need to work out all those neck muscles weeks before the event, to be able to pull that thing down an aisle.
And I love my dress. In case you were still wondering.
