12 August 2011

11- 19 - 17 - 12

We celebrated our anniversary yesterday. August 11th.
Of course I forgot. Never could remember the darn date. Was convinced the solar eclipse was on August 19th...again!

Thank goodness September 17th has a nice ring to it.
Hope I'll be able to remember THAT date.

We've been together for 12 years now. WOW, time sure does fly! That's more than one third of my existence. Amazing.

And when Monday lunchtime rolls round, we will officially be Mr & Mrs.
Yikes!
I so do not feel like a Mrs. Sounds serious AND old!
Then again, guess being a Mrs is what you make of it.

Am NOT looking forward to the administrative details of changing my status & name everywhere. But will get over it.

What's left to do for the wedding?
> church ceremony: what songs, when will the music play.
> write our vows
> program / booklet-thingy for the church
> flowers for the church & evening
> car: trying to find a vehicle to transport us from church to reception
> band at reception: make sure they play the right songs at the right time :-)
> cake: silly reception venue has refused to produce the cake. AAAAAarghhh! I had a moment last week.

Actually though, this cake dilemma is turning out to be a blessing in disguise: someone at work recommended a bakery in Germany and they are one third of the price (including delivery). Not to mention the current exchange rate of the EURO. We're going round on Sunday afternoon to discuss details.

Evening:
> seating chart
> menu
> import wine

Think that's all. Probably forgot half of it.

Just had a thought: if it rains, will we have to provide umbrellas for the guests? No, they can take care of themselves.
