Not sure I like the change.... remindes me of work.
2011 is gone and it's already the middle of January 2012. Shocking how quickly time flies.
Last year was a monumental, amazing, emotional, fantastic, interesting and exhausting rollercoster ride.
Full of fun, laughter, I dare to call it my best year yet.
- I stood in front of a class & taught people how to read a balance sheet (what irony, I hate(d) finance),
- hit the big 3-0,
- got promoted (technically as of Jan 1st 2012...)
AND
- We got married.
- Drank and ate our way through Puglia (Italy)
So no surprise that as of November I fell into an complete slump. The full works of post wedding blues crushed me like a pile of bricks. Only yesterday I managed to crawl out of the debris, finally able to muster enough enthusiasm and energy to grab 2012 by the horns.
I was stupid and naïve to think the post wedding blues would pass me by with not much more than a friendly wave. I mean, come on. I spent an ENTIRE YEAR scrolling through wedding blogs & websites.
Crazy? Maybe.
Saturday and Sunday morning I scrolled through blog after blog, sipping my tea... contemplating color scheme, different kind of veils, honeymoon locations, gathering inspiration from "real wedding" pictures, etc... utter bliss!
I really missed those relaxed weekends when I got back. There was no purpose to Saturday & Sunday morning anymore.
To set the record straight, I was no emotional wreck these past few weeks. I just found it difficult to get out of bed in the morning and found myself to be sluggish and slow during the day.
Ok, am bored with the past now, want to talk about latest developments
New Year was fantastic!
We had friends round for dinner and all had a great time, despite a couple splitting up at our party.
January 1st was A.W.F.U.L. we were both completely hungover, only managing to recover shortly before midnight. What a party!
Friends are getting married in New Orleans next year and we've decided to go on to Las Vegas with a group. Always fancied a kitsch Vegas Wedding, depending on how much it'll cost to rent a Elvis Presley Minister I say we do it :-)
