Had a great weekend. A really really great weekend!
We finally got our own US phones.
Had to put down a deposit of $500.- per phone though. Why? Again, the same story: we have no credit history in the US. But at least it worked!!
I am now the proud owner of a white iPhone 5s. Yeah baby!
On Saturday we celebrated a friend's birthday with a decadent brunch at The Coffee Shop, down in Union Square. Unfortunately it was also a "goodbye brunch" as the couple flew back to Switzerland in the afternoon. We all did our best to convince them to give up their jobs and move to NYC,.. time will tell if we were successful.
The evening saw us perched at a nice bar with a fantastic bar keeper - he pulled out all the stops in response to my usual "what can you recommend?" FANTASTIC.
Then on we went to our first concert. A friend of a friend's friend from college (lot of friends there) is the guitarist of the band. Long story short - we had a blast! Music was Country meets Rock.. and the lead singer - what a voice!
We even started a line of people can-can-ing (or high kicking) in front of the stage... legendary.
Dragged ourselves up to our flat this morning and scrubbed that place within an inch of its life. We cleaned places that looked like they hadn't been touched since the building was built in 1800!
Anyhow, you could eat off the floor now. And I'm going to get my nails redone tomorrow :-)
