What a quick week this has been!
A blink of the eye and Monday has reared its head again.
Let's see, what happened:
Friends from Switzerland were visiting family in New Jersey and came down to Manhattan for the afternoon. We were enjoying drinks in Midtown when she mentioned that she hadn't found any shoes. She said: "Am so disappointed.!"
I heard: "OOOoooh, a challenge!"
We were going for an early dinner as they had to catch a train, so we had ONE hour.
Hmm. Where do you go when you need to shop very quickly? Yes, that's it: MACY'S!
Exactly one hour later she had bought 3 pairs of shoes and saved $400.- (yes saved! Luxury brands at 50% off)! Happy happy shoe shoppers!
We said goodbye to our temporary housing on Friday. Buhu. Will miss the luxury of a free fitness studio with Kiehl's shampoo and douche. On the bright side: we finally have a place we can call home!
It took three hours for the Verizon guy to get our Internet up and running. Was quite funny, the two of us had a BIG discussion on where the TV would go. Why? Well, he needed to know where to install the wire and because he needed to staple it to the wall we would not be able to move the TV around. (I mean come on, a bit of flexibility please, the room is 20m2. Not exactly a loft!)
Anyhow, I told him we had not yet decided (well I hadn't) and asked his opinion. Typical man, he went for the same position as Manuel. "You put the TV on the big wall, woman!"
I opposed, using the same arguments as I had with Manuel, but no doing. Was so funny, we both were like "AAARGH, you sound just like my wife / husband!". (They had just moved house & bought a new TV too.)
Will continue tomorrow, Manu just came home :)
